Wis. Man Injured in Tuesday Car Accident

A Wisconsin Dells man was hospitalized after being transported via medical helicopter Tuesday afternoon after a two-car accident on Highway H near Chadwick Road just north of Reedsburg. The man injured in the car accident was a passenger in a vehicle driven by another Wisconsin Dells man. Authorities reported that the car accident occurred when the man lost control of his blue Volkswagen during slushy road conditions while driving in the southbound lane and crossed the center line sideways into the northbound lanes. It's important to note that the Midwest was dumped with record amounts of snow due to a severe winter storm over the weekend which made highways and roads difficult to maneuver through.

After losing control, the vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a 2008 Nissan SUV driven by a motorist from New Hampshire. Amidst the wreckage, one individual had to be removed from the vehicle by emergency responders and both individuals were taken to Reedsburg Area Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the car accident.

As a result of the crash, police closed Highway H at 19th Street within the city limits to allow emergency personnel to safely perform their duties. "The Sauk County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Reedsburg Fire Department and Reedsburg Ambulance. The crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff's Department."
