It sounds obvious, but paying attention to the road can help drivers avoid car crashes. Sadly, two people died in separate car accidents in Walworth County on succeeding days earlier this month.
On a recent evening, police officers found a severely injured man lying on the road. He had apparently been thrown from his car after it crashed into a tree and a telephone pole. He reportedly lost control of his vehicle, a 1995 Ford Explorer.
The crash took place in Troy near Sterman Road and Highway J, according to Wisn.com. The motorist was rushed by air transport to a hospital located in Milwaukee for treatment of his injuries. He died the following day.
Another fatal car accident, which investigators said would continue to be investigated, occurred the next day close to the Rock County and Walworth County borders, with law enforcement officer from both jurisdictions reportedly responding to reports of the crash.
A Ford F-350 apparently pulled out from a stop sign after stopping on County Line Road. As it did so, a westbound 1001 Ford Fiesta smashed into the F-350, impacting the driver's side of the vehicle.
The Fiesta's driver died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle escaped injury. No charges had been filed in the days following the accident, but a district attorney planned to review the case.
It was not reported whether alcohol could have been a factor in either fatal crash.
